SACEUR visits Iceland

Christopher G. Cavoli, Supreme Allied Commander Europe and Commander of the U.S. European Command, met with Minister for Foreign Affairs Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir and had meetings on defence issues with ministry officials during a brief visit to Iceland. 

 „Having General Cavoli in Iceland at this time was particularly useful as we are reviewing Iceland‘s defence policy,“ said Minister for Foreign Affairs Gunnarsdóttir. „His deep knowledge of the situation in the North Atlantic is very valuable to us.“

General Cavoli also had talks with the Icelandic parliamentary group that is currently reviewing the security and defence policy for Iceland.
