UPR 51 - Sao Tome and Principe

Mr. President,

Iceland welcomes the delegation of Sao Tome and Principe and its national report.

In the spirit of constructive engagement, Iceland recommends the following:

1. Criminalize all forms of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) through legislation in line with international standards.
2. Ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health services and information.
3. Guarantee Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in and out of school settings.
4. Adopt comprehensive anti-discrimination legislation that criminalizes all forms of discrimination against persons of diverse SOGIESC.
5. Legalize same sex marriage of consenting adults.
